Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver 14k Gold and Iolite Stone Enamel Yellow Pansy Pendant or Brooch
This lovely Edwardian pansy brooch is a perfect example of Art Nouveau’s nod to nature, organic forms and fluid lines. Complete with a 14k gold prong setting which holds a faceted tanzanite stone, fully functional pin back and bale, this piece can be worn as either a brooch or a pendant. Noticeable enamel wear, please see photos, does not effect the wearability or functionality of this beautiful and very special piece.

A note on the pansy: Historically speaking, in both the Victorian and Edwardian eras, pansies held deep meaning in the jewelry realm. Often used as a token symbol for a thought of love or remembrance, intended to say, “I’ll be thinking of you”. A yellow pansy was specifically meant to symbolize joy, happiness and optimism.
