Perhaps like most of you, each year when January comes around, I hunker down and start drafting my lists of organizational tasks, cleaning projects and personal goals. Oh and lest we forget the endless dreaming about "fresh starts", "new beginnings", "second chances" and all the things that are possible in the year to come. Normally I tend to have a fear of jinxing something if I mention it before the time comes. In this case however, I think the magic of visualization and the power of positive thinking might be worth a try. Without taking on too much all at once, I wanted to take a moment to reflect and for the record of "putting it out there," mention one of my most important personal goals for this new year. Okay, here goes...By this time next year I hope to be sitting in the lovely living room of our first home. Perhaps gazing at the roaring fire in the fireplace below our perfectly placed Christmas stockings as I prepare to take down the holiday decorations and our (finally!) full sized, picture perfect, Christmas tree. Preferably this house will reside on at least one bucolic acre with room enough for my jewelry studio, our vintage Spartan Carousel as a guest house, a fabulous kitchen where I can cook and bake to my hearts content and an herb and vegetable garden in the works. Our three kitties will be happily curled up and Mr. K and I will finally have a place to call our own where we feel comfortable enough to set down our roots.
But, for now, the quick (New Year's Eve/Wedding Anniversary) bungee trip up to my brother and sister-in-law's idyllic farm (Goatville we proudly call it.) in the northern California redwoods, will suffice. But next year??? Just you wait!
Happy New Year! Here's a toast to all of us "putting it out there!" Fingers crossed!
