Happy Summer Solstice to you!
Here in lovely SF we are accustomed to what Twain referred to when he was rumored to have said, "The coldest winter I ever saw, was the summer I spent in San Francisco."
"June Gloom", is a frequently heard comment about the tremendous amounts of fog that can envelop our fair city when the heat of the valley clashes with the cool ocean air. This year however, is remarkable! Take for example the glorious amounts of summer produce already showing up at my local farmer's market; delicious white peaches dripping with juice, striped zucchini packed full of flavor, fresh basil bunches and lovely summer peas. Or the fact that we have had over 11, ( yup, count 'em!) sun filled weekends in a row with folks flooding the beaches, parks and bike paths donning adorable summer dresses, sandals and sneakers. This season, one of my dreamy summer vacations will be to enjoy my city in all of it's summery splendor. After all, what better way to enjoy San Francisco than in the sun? Just be sure you wear your shades, straw hat and SPF.
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?
